The Hatters Boys Basketball team will be hosting a summer basketball camp for boys and girls grades 1--9. The camp will provide fundamental and basic basketball-specific skills, establish building blocks for overall basketball skills. 70% of time is spent on individual fundamental training and only 30% of the time is spent on actual game competition. Teach position concepts, but DO NOT assign player positions at any point in the level. Divide actual competition between special games (1x1, 2x2, 3x3, skill games) and 5x5 play, trying not to focus on actual 5x5 competition until later in the level. For more information click on the Camps Link and download camp flyer attached to this article or contact Coach Rick Fedele by email: rfedele@hattersbball.com.

About Mike:
Mike was a proud graduate from Hatboro-Horsham High School (Tri-Captain of the 1978 Hatters Basketball Team) and from Ursinus College (Class of 1982). For 37 years, he was the Sales Manager at Reads Moving Systems, where he loved his job and networking groups. Mike enjoyed music, cooking, and basketball (he coached all of his kids for HHOOPs), and was very proud of being Irish. The man who “knew everyone,” Mike was very social, intelligent, compassionate, dependable, and he made an impact on all he met with his kind and generous spirit. Even in times of trouble, he never lost his sense of humor. He devoted his life to his family and was the absolute best dad and husband, who would move heaven and earth for his kids.
For over 25 years, Mike selflessly supported HHOOPS through coaching, being an active board member, and contributing to important programs like HHOOPS Challenger Day. His loving wife, Carol, and their family are still actively involved in making the HHOOPS Challenger Day a success each year, and his sons, Shane & Brendan, have continued on Mike's HHOOPs coaching legacy through coaching a travel team along with their cousin Patrick.

Hatboro-Horsham boys' basketball is looking to change its fortunes under coach Rick Fedele, who took over the helm after 19 seasons at New Hope-Solebury. How long it takes the Hatters to adjust to a new system will be key.
